In Photoshop Elements 7 I used a custom gradient for the orange background. I used some of the Distort filter features in PS Elements and saved it. Then I painted in the bright yellow core of the pulsar with two of the comet brushes by Rubina 119: [link]

and used some more Distort filters. Next, I applied Starwalt Starfields

in a few colors.
This is sized for wallpaper 1152x864. Feel free to download as wallpaper if it is not too bright for your eyes. You may also use it freely as stock.
